Valentine’s Day, a holiday simultaneously loved and hated by so many. I must admit, I typically feel quite “meh” about Valentine’s Day; however, the Hallmark holiday has started to grow on me. I often hear people argue that Valentine’s Day is silly since “shouldn’t you show your love everyday?” I agree that making your loved ones feel appreciated everyday is important, but in today’s busy world lets be honest, how often does that actually happen? Call me a pessimist, but I’ll bet it’s not as often as many of us would like.
So, maybe Valentine’s Day is just a little reminder to take the time to express our love to those most important to us. No grand gestures needed, simply writing down your feelings in a cute card (see below) is enough to make that special someone feel the love. Plus, is anyone else loving this whole Galentine’s Day thing? Any excuse to get the girls together, eat chocolate, and drink wine sounds good to me. I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day at home with my fiancé cooking up something delicious, sipping some wine and watching a movie.
We don’t exchange gifts on Valentine’s Day, but for those of you who are, here’s what would be on my wish list,
hint hint. I actually already have a few of these items, including “Butter Celebrates!”, and I make frequent trips for facials to my favourite local spa Skoah (if you live near one of their locations their “Facialiscious” facial is heavenly). I love, love, love all of these things and I think you (or someone you love) will too!
How will you be spreading the love this Valentine’s Day? Any exciting plans? Let me know!
